love

Happy Four years.

I never did believe in soul mates. Now its nice to be married and find out I feel differently. I believe Jayson and I were meant to be in every way. I like to think before we came to this earth we were the best of friends and knew we would find each other. He is my everything, my other half and my soul mate.

Jayson...I know you will read this. I want you to know that I love you with my whole heart and I will love you  forever. I am so thankful for you in my life. I am so glad we found each other and get to spend our lives together. Thank you for being my best friend.

graham cracker houses

First we gathered as much yummy stuff as we could possibly find. I didn't want to buy tons of small bags of candy because it was really adding up. So to keep it cheaper I bought one big bag of assorted candies. Then we used random things from the pantry... Marshmallows and pretzels just happened to be in there.

Ty started off pretty hesitant. He was looking at us like we were crazy for decorating crackers and ice cream cones. After a while he had tons of fun and made a pretty cute Christmas tree!

He also helped Dad build his house. Ty did all the pretzels and smarties.

To keep Ember entertained and happy we gave her a little frosting. Most of it ended up on her cheeks and not in her tummy. She was pretty happy playing with the cardboard and tinfoil too.

He was so proud of his Christmas Tree!

What a mess but it was lots of fun!

Happy Birthday Ty

Ty's birthday was on the 2nd. My little man is THREE! He is getting so big, so adorable, so sweet, so funny and so smart!

Me: Happy Birthday Ty
Ty: Happy Birthday to you too mama. Love you
Me: I love you too Ty but its just your birthday!
Ty: No mama its our birthday..

Anytime anyone would tell him happy birthday he would respond with "Happy birthday to you too" Silly cute kid. He asked for some Thomas trains and some cake. I thought that would be easy enough! We also went out to eat.. Took the kiddos to McDonalds and got them a happy meal. Ty was obviously in heaven. He loves french fries.

I keep catching Ty using his Thomas puppets... So dang cute. I found a tutorial here. I plan to make Sir Topham Hatt and Mr. Conductor for Christmas.

Nana and Papa Stan got him this fun farm. Its been getting a lot of play time from Ty and Ember both. In the last few months I have really noticed a huge change in the way Ty plays with his toys. He is actually making pens for the animals...pretending the farmer is feeding the animals... and making the actual animal noises. So fun. His little imagination is amazing. He can make absolutely anything fun!

Ty is my lil man, my first born and my baby boy forever.

I love you Ty. I love the way you wake up early and whisper "milk" softly in my ear. I love the way to want to dress yourself each morning. I love the way you tell me "my love you mama" I love that you love Ember. I love that you are obsessed with Trains, painting, writing, books, cutting paper and anything crafty. I love that you like to watch me sew and cut my thread when Im done. I love that you know how and where to load my robbin (bobbin). I love that you are so tender and sweet. I also love that you tell me what you want when you want it. You have a strong personality and even though at times its hard for me I never want you to lose that. I love that your sitting right next to me right now excited that your farm is on the "puter" (computer). I love that you eat toast with peanut butter for at least one meal a day. I love that you love to make pancakes and would every morning if I had the energy. I love that when you get excited you flap your arms really fast. I love that you love to run around the house in your batman cape. I love that you love your daddy and tell me you want to be just like him. I love that you are the first to stand up for Ember but also the first to push her. I love your smell, especially in the mornings. I love your soft cheeks. I love your big blue eyes and your skinny little legs. I love you more and more everyday. I am so thankful to be your mama. xoxo

Christmas crafts

Found the idea here for these darling Christmas crafts.

Pretty sure when ever I bring out the paint Ty is in heaven! He gets so excited to make a mess. A large sheet comes in handy if you live in an apartment like we do and can't go right outside to a backyard. Or if its just too cold for outdoor painting. This sheet has been through a lot. I put it under me when dying my hair and under us for almost every craft project.

Although Ty was thrilled about this craft, Ember on the other hand....not so much.. She really hated the paint on her foot. I'm sure it was cold and she had no idea why I would be doing that to her. All she wanted to do was suck on the paint brush.. Not okay. So I gave her a string cheese to chew on while I was torturing her with paint on her foot and she calmed right down.

By the time we were done with the feet Ember was in no mood to do her hands. This was right before nap time so maybe ill try again after dinner when she is full and happy!

The only thing more fun than painting your feet is washing it off in the sink!

These are great to hang on the fridge.. I think I will frame the mistletoes and use it for decoration. I also plan on putting their name on the top of their toes with the date so I won't forget. Also a great thing to send to grandparents!!

Snow day

So, this is not really a DIY at all. More like an accidental fun time. A friend of mine came by to borrow a cup of flour. I got it out and set it on the counter. First Ty wanted to play with a little and pretend he was making cookies. So I dumped a little into a bowel for him to play with. Then it ended up on the counter. He started laughing and calling it snow. Then he went to his room and runs back with a hand full of animals. He said "Animals play in snow" So naturally with him being that adorable and using his imagination I couldn't deny him to the joy of his animals playing in the snow. So I dumped out a couple cups full and just let them play.

Pretty cheap and a whole lot of fun. The kids ended up playing in it for an hour. I was able to fold all the clothes, vacuum and do a load of dishes.

Yeah, It makes a huge mess... But the wonderful thing about messes is....they can be cleaned up!

Once there was a Snowman

This is what happens when you give a toddler scissors. This is also what happens when you have a lot of fun. Ty wanted to make a snowman so bad today. . . There just hasn't been enough snow here so we made one on our fridge.

He was so excited to help and be able to cut and tape all the shapes together. We used white poster board from the dollar store and scrap paper for the rest of the snowman. The broom is made from the inside roll of wrapping paper and a brown paper bag.

Yup, Ty often wears his shirts backward. He is dressing himself and I want to encourage independence... So it works. Anyway to say he had fun would be an understatement. When did he get so big??!

Meet our Snowman Red.
